Technical Information

I Have an Uninterrupted Power Supply. So Should I Still Use an Overvoltage Protection System?

Yes. Many UPS systems do not include any instantaneous overvoltage protection equipment. Most of those claiming to provide instantaneous overvoltage protection contain just a tiny low conductive filter. This filter provides protection against radio frequency interference only, but fails to enable protection against instantaneous overvoltages with larger amplitude. Besides, there is a by-pass connection in many UPS systems that is enabled during faults, over-loads, UPS failures or routine maintenance. Overvoltage protection systems also protect UPS systems and their electronic circuits against damage and wear.
