External conductor (conductor rod & Faraday) systems provide protection against loss of life and property that might be caused by the burning/destructive effect of a lightning strike hitting a construction. It is not possible to protect the electric-electronic system and equipment inside the construction with these systems. Therefore, an internal conductor system (low voltage surge arresters) must be used in a construction with external conductor system.
