What Are the Differences between Faraday Cages and Lightning Rod Systems?

Even though the Faraday Cage Method, which provides a natural shield on the building to be protected against lightning by covering it with horizontal and vertical conductors, can protect the construction effectively if applied properly, it cannot protect the remaining areas and other surrounding buildings. Active lightning rods, on the other hand, protect the area of their location within a certain range. As neither system provides 100% protection against lightning, one of them is preferred depending on various economical and architectural criteria during the project stage.
