The Importance of External Lightning Systems

Lightning is an electrical discharge phenomenon that occurs between the ground and sky. It is possible to provide protection against the physical damage that can be caused in as little as a few microseconds or a few milliseconds by having systems in place that can direct and transfer lightning into the ground in a controlled manner.

Lightning strikes, which are believed to be increasing in Turkey, especially in the spring and summer seasons, lead to many damages and losses. The main role of the external lightning systems used in buildings and installations is to create an effective defense mechanism for the buildings and minimize/prevent loss of life and property that might occur as a result of a lightning strike.
