The Problems Caused by Surge in Factories
- As a result of the card burns in Electronic devices and program delitions in logically controlled devices, there occur ;
- Leakage of dangerous substances due to stopping off the measurement-control systems available in the industrial premises .
- Damages and interruptions due to robotic systems that are out of control
- Stopping off the communication as the switchboards are damaged.
- As production losses and decrease in productivity arose in conjuction with the equipment failures;
- Senewal of expensive equipments as they are damaged
- Stopping of the production in the factories (especially in the premises where computer based manufacturing, CAD-CAM’s are available).

The Problems Caused by Surge in Detached Buildings and Schools
- Damages to Electronic Devices (Television, VCD, DVD Player, Computer, etc.),
- Burning of electronic cards in refrigerators, washing machines, dishwashers, microwave ovens,
- Burning of satellite systems (LNB, Receiver),
- Cutting-off the communication as the telephone system is damaged

The Problems Caused by Surge in Hospitals ;
- As a result of the card burns in Electronic devices and program delitions in logically controlled devices, there occur ;
- Damages, interruptions and wrong data generation in the medical electronic devices and life support units used in the hospitals,
- Failures in laboratuary devices, conclusion of wrong testing and measurement,
- Damages and interruptions in Electronic Devices,
- Stopping off the communication as the switchboards are damaged.

How the Protection System Works?
The surge arrestors are connected in the low voltage systems with phases to earthing and with neutre to inbetween earthing and when the surge arrives they have them absorbed on themselves by tranforming from open circuit status.

Do you have to use a surge arrestor although you have an UPS?
Many of the UPS systems include a small low pass filter. This filter provides protection only against radio frequency interfrences but this can not provide protection against surges in higher magnitudes which may cause damages as well as many of the UPS systems are cut-out through by-pass connection during overloadings, failures or perodical maintenaces. The surge arrestor also protects UPS and its electronic circuits against damages and wearing. Shortly, you have to use surge arrestors although you have an UPS system.
